3 Face Mask Recipes to Try At Home

This busyness can seriously add to our stress, which can cause us to overeat, but it can also wreak havoc on our skin. Causing acne breakouts or wrinkles. We are often so busy that we may not even have time for an appointment with your esthetician for a professional facial.

Facials can give you a few minutes to relax and revitalize your skin. Face masks are also something that you can do at home, on your own. Of course, you will not get the exact same results as a professional facial, but they will still add a healthy glow to your skin. Take a look at some of these facial recipes that use ingredients you can find in your home!

Wrinkles-Reversing Red Wine Mask

Red wine is well known for having various antioxidants including Resveratrol. Resveratrol is known to protect your skin from UVA light waves that cause wrinkles. The egg whites also tightens up your skin to reverse the look of fine lines.

2 tbsp red wine
1 egg + 1 egg yolk

Instructions: Whisk all ingredients together until well blended. Wash and dry your face very carefully. Use a clean pastry brush to brush the mixture onto your face, neck, and neckline. Avoid the area around your eyes. Allow the mixture to dry completely before you wash it off.

Redness-Reducing Oatmeal Mask

Oatmeal has a calming effect on the skin. Not only does it calm the skin, but it moisturizes it as well. Oatmeal is often used in products to treat eczema and dry skin. This skin type is usually caused by a high pH, that oatmeal lowers.

1/2 cup hot water
1/3 cup oatmeal
2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
2 tbsp honey
1 egg white

Instructions: Mix the water and oatmeal together. Let it sit for at least 2 minutes. While this is sitting, wash and dry your face. Mix the rest of the ingredients into the oatmeal. Once thoroughly combined, apply a thin layer to your face. Keep on your face for at least 15 minutes and then wash off completely.

Chocolate Lover’s Dream

This recipe seems more like a dessert than a facial. However, chocolate is full of antioxidants. These antioxidant help to revive skin and prevents skin damage. You also get a little bit of aromatherapy with the smell of the chocolate.

3 tbsp heavy cream
2 tbsp powdered oatmeal
1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
1/4 cup honey

Instructions: Mix together the powdered oatmeal and the heavy cream. Let it sit for 2 minutes. While this is sitting, wash and dry your face. Mix in the cocoa and honey to make a thick paste. Apply a thin layer to your face. Wait about 15 minutes and then wash and dry your face again.
