What Do You Need In An Esthetician

woman-getting-a-facialTips For Finding A Good Esthetician

Did you know that your skin is the largest single organ on your body? It’s certainly the first thing people see on you and it makes sense that you want to take good care of it. Luckily, there are people out there that can help you with that task—they’re called estheticians. They can work in salons and spas, or even doctor’s offices and they have a variety of services they can provide. No matter where you visit an esthetician, you want to ensure that you don’t trust just anyone with something as important as your skin. Use these tips on finding a good esthetician in your area.

Tip 1: Know What You Want

It’s always helpful to understand what you want from an esthetician before you go looking for one. Some specialize in certain areas and if one is able to do what you want and another can’t, you know where to go automatically. Communicate what you want with the esthetician you consider and let them know what your expectations are as well. That conversation should start with services and then move to your budget.

Tip 2: Ask For Advice

When you visit with a possible esthetician, by phone or in person, ask them for advice on the issue that concerns you. If you have blackheads on your face, for example, they should have some ideas about how to treat them. Any worthwhile esthetician should know all the latest treatments and technologies. Look a few up online and ask specific questions about those that interest you. If they don’t know what you’re talking about, they’re not as good as you can get.

Tip 3: Watch For False Promises

Estheticians should give you a realistic idea as to how their treatments will help you. What they should not do, however, is make promises that aren’t going to come true. They shouldn’t say that certain products are going to make you look 20 years younger or that services with them will completely change your appearance. These false promises are trying to hook you into the fold, but they won’t come true.

Tip 4: Ask About Philosophy

It might sound strange, but estheticians should have a philosophy about how they care for customers and their skin. There are plenty of different ways to treat the skin and your esthetician should have a general rule about skincare. Ask them what their philosophy is on skincare or their other areas of expertise so you can judge whether or not it lines up with yours. If they prefer to go right for laser treatments while you would rather use products first, it might not be the right fit.

Get The Esthetician You Need

Just because one esthetician doesn’t meet your requirements doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with their services. You just need to find the exact right one to meet your needs. Contact Athena Wellness Center and tell us what you want in an esthetician and we’ll find the right fit for you to get you on your way to top skin health.
