Amber has been with Athena Wellness since August 2012. She is originally from Harvey, Louisiana (just South of New Orleans) and has lived in Texas since May 2008. She is married and has 3 beautiful children. After High School, Amber attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana and majored in Dietetics. After 2 years, she moved back home to get married and begin her family. She has been married to her High School sweetheart since February 2000. When she began working for Athena Wellness Center, she was overweight and very unhappy. She began boot camp classes and then moved up to weight training. Athena helped her transform her life. She is more active with her family and even enjoys shopping! She has an obscene love of shoes and enjoys everything that sparkles. Athena has changed her life, and she cannot wait to meet you so that Athena can change your life too!
Dawn Williams-Larson: Esthetician
I have been an Esthetician for 9 years. I have 3 daughters, two stepsons and an awesome husband. My favorite things to do are spending time with my family and friends, going to church, spending time at the lake, and travelling and seeing the world.
I have worked at Athena since it opened. It is just like finding the man of your dreams, when you work at a place where everyone has the same goal, to treat people the same and feel trusted. We are all passionate about wellness; spiritually, mentally and physically. Everything we do at Athena, I believe in 100% - the doctor, the treatments, the products, etc. Together it is a perfect match.
What I love the most is when someone comes in and I can tell that they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. It is so rewarding that they come to me to relax, to be able to be used to help lift that weight off and seeing them come out of the room feeling better. This fills me up completely, head to toe. I could not even imagine something more rewarding.
Laurie Stulce - Esthetician
Hi, my name is Laurie Stulce and I am an Esthetician at Athena Wellness Center. I became licensed in Esthetics in 2005. My desire after obtaining my license was to work at a physician’s office. My dream opportunity presented itself at Athena Wellness Center.
When I began my position at Athena, one of the first qualities that I noticed was that everyone is so compassionate, loving, and caring. I found out that our core values are one and the same- all of us want the very best for our patients. I love the concept of a wellness center – rejuvenating the body, soul, and mind. The positive energy that is always in the clinic is both contagious and uplifting. With the years of experience with lasers, I am passionate about integrating the relaxing spa treatments with the precision of laser, thus producing ultimate results. My goal is to make people feel and look beautiful inside and out. I enjoy having a relationship with my patients, because it establishes trust in meeting their personal needs.
Chelsea Johnson: Licensed Vocational Nurse
Hi, my name is Chelsea Johnson, and I am an LVN at Athena Wellness Center. I am happily married to my husband Jarrod of 8 years now. We have been blessed with a wonderful son Parker, who is now 16 months-old and our dog Cody who is 3 years-old. Needless to say, we have our hands full at home. I became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 2010. Prior to my nursing career, I worked for Sadler clinic, and there I learned my desire to help others would be a necessary part of planning my future career. After attending nursing school, I worked for Davita dialysis for 3 years, then decided to accept a position with a company that would allow a more flexible schedule for my family life. Having a flexible schedule had its perks, however, I was still searching for that “perfect” job that would allow me to be a working mom with enough energy to still be a great mom at home! After lots of prayer, I was tremendously blessed with an offer with Athena Wellness Center. Being here has been such a rewarding job in which I can focus on celebrating my wellness as well as helping others to achieve their goals in wellness.
Susan Mashni: Nutrition Counselor
Greetings, I'm Susan Mashni, and I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I
was raised within a very large and close knit extended family. Shortly
after college, I met my husband to be and relocated to Houston in 1980. We
will celebrate 34 years together this year. We have been blessed with two
wonderful grown sons. I took a few years away from the workforce to raise
our sons. In 1987, I decided to go back to school and earn a Medical
Assistant Certificate and went to work for a family practice and
dermatologist. I loved working in the medical environment and the constant
opportunities to learn and grow. From there, my focus was directed to medical weight loss where I became to specialize in. Growing up in a large family, there was a great deal of focus around food, and I struggled with my weight my whole life. I personally
understand the pain and the long journey it has taken me to get to a healthy
weight and the continuous struggle to maintain it. I feel so much gratification and pure joy when counseling and helping clients to make the lifestyle changes needed to reach their goals to become healthy.
I love working with this amazing
group of women. I love that we all share the same goal to do our very best
for our clients. I also appreciate the feeling of being part of yet another
extended family.
In my free time, I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I enjoy
traveling and watching sports with my family. To relax I love to read and
listen to all kinds of music.
